                                                     File Menu

New :-Creates a new LibreOffice document.



Open:- Opens a local or remote file, or imports one.



Open Remote:- Opens a document located in a remote file service.



Recent Documents:- Lists the most recently opened files. To open a file in the list, click its name.



Close :- Closes the current document without exiting the program.



Wizards:- Guides you through creating business and personal letters, faxes, agendas, presentations, and more.



Templates:- Lets you organize and edit your templates, as well  as save the current file as a template.



Reload:- Replaces the current document with the last saved version.



Versions:- Saves and organizes multiple versions of the current document in the same file. You can also open, delete and compare previous versions.



Save:- Saves the current document.



Save Remote:- Saves a document located in a remote file  service.



Save As :- Saves the current document in a different location, or with a different file name or file type.



Save All:- Saves all modified LibreOffice documents.



Save a Copy:- Saves a copy of the actual document with another name or location.



Export:-Saves the current document with a different name and format to a location that you specify.



Export As:- Export the document in PDF or EPUB formats.



Send:-Sends a copy of the current document to different applications.





Preview in Web Browser:-Creates a temporary copy of the current document in HTML format, opens the system default Web browser, and displays the HTML file in the Web browser.



Print Preview:- Displays a preview of the printed page or closes the preview.



Print:- Prints the current document, selection, or the pages that you specify. You can also set the print options for the current document. The printing options can vary according to  the printer and the operating system that you use.



Printer Settings:- Select the default printer for the current document.



Document Properties:- Displays the properties for the current file, including statistics such as word count and the date the file was created.



Digital Signatures:-Adds and removes digital signatures to and from your document. You can also use the dialog to view certificates.



Exit:- Closes all LibreOffice programs and prompts you to save your changes. This command does not exist on macOS systems.



Edit Menu



This menu contains commands for editing the contents of the current document.



Undo:- Reverses the last command or the last entry you typed. To select the command that you want to reverse, click the arrow next to the Undo icon on the Standard bar.



Redo:- Reverses the action of the last Undo command. To select the Undo step that you want to reverse, click the arrow next to the Redo icon on the Standard bar.



Repeat:- Repeats the last command. This command is available in Writer and Calc.



Cut:- Removes and copies the selection to the clipboard.



Copy:-Copies the selection to the clipboard.



Paste:- Inserts the contents of the clipboard at the location of  the cursor, and replaces any selected text or objects.



Paste Special:- Inserts the contents of the clipboard into the current file in a format that you can specify.



Select All:- Selects the entire content of the current file, frame, or text object.



Selection Mode:- Choose the selection mode from the sub menu normal selection mode, or block selection mode.



Select Text:- You can enable a selection cursor in a read-only text document or in the Help. Choose Edit - Select Text or open the context menu of a read-only document and choose Select Text. The selection cursor does not blink.



Direct Cursor Mode:- Allows a user to click at the beginning, middle, or end of any possible text line on a page and then begin typing.



Find:- Toggle the visibility of the Find toolbar to search for text or navigate a document by element.



Find & Replace:- Finds or replaces text or formats in the current document.



Go to Page:- Opens the Navigator window on the Page Number spin button, so you can enter in a page number.



                    View Menu


This menu contains commands for controlling the on-screen display of the document.


Normal

Switches to normal view, where you can create and edit your slides.


Outline

Switches to outline view, where you can add, edit and reorganize slide titles and headings.


Notes

Switches to notes view, where you can add notes to your slides. Notes are hidden from the audience when you give your presentation.



Handout

Switches to the handout page view, where you can scale several slides to fit on one printed page.


Slide Sorter

Displays miniature versions of the slides so they can easily be rearranged.



Master Slide

Switches to master slide view, where you can add elements that you want to appear on all of the slides that use the same master slide.Master Notes

Displays the master notes, where you can set the default formatting for notes.


Toolbars

Opens a submenu to show and hide toolbars. A toolbar contains icons and options that let you quickly access LibreOffice commands.


Status Bar

Shows or hides the Status bar at the bottom edge of the window.



Rulers

Displays or hides rulers at the top and left or right edges of the workspace.



Slide Pane

Switches the Slide Pane on and off.



Grid

Sets the display properties of a grid.




Specifies the display options for snap guides.



Object Moving Helplines

Specifies whether to display guides when moving an object Color/Gray scale

Shows slides in color, grayscale, or black and white.


Comments

Show or hide a presentation's annotations.



Master Background

Toggle the visibility of a master slide's background to be used as the background of the current slide.


Master Objects

Toggle the visibility of a master slide's objects to appear on the current slide.



Master Elements

Add header, footer, date, and slide number placeholders to the master slide.


Sidebar

The Sidebar is a vertical graphical user interface that primarily provides contextual properties, style management, document navigation, and media gallery features.

Styles

Opens the Styles deck of the Sidebar, which lists the available graphic and presentation styles for applying and editing.


Clip Art Gallery

Opens the Gallery deck of the Sidebar, where you can select images and audio clips to insert into your document.


Navigator

Opens the Navigator, where you can quickly jump to other slides or move between open files.


Zoom

Reduces or enlarges the screen display of LibreOffice.


                    Insert Menu


This menu contains the commands that are used to insert new elements into the document, for example, graphics, objects, special characters and other files.



Inserting Images

Inserts an image into the current document centered on the page or slide.


Audio or Video

Inserts a video or audio file into your document.


Chart

Inserts a chart.


Table

Inserts a new table into the current slide or page.


Media

The submenu presents various sources that an image, audio or video can be insert from.


Object

Inserts an embedded object into your document, including formulas, 3D models, charts and OLE objects.

Shape

This submenu contains common shapes like a line, circle, triangle, and square, or a symbol shape like a smiley face, heart, and flower that can be inserted into the document.


Snap Point/Line

Inserts a snap point or snap line (also known as guide) that you can use to quickly align objects. Snap points and snap lines do not appear in printed output.

Text Box

Draws a text box with horizontal text direction where you drag in the current document. Drag a text box to the size you want anywhere in the document, and then type or paste your text. Rotate the text box to get rotated text.





Comment

Inserts a comment around the selected text, presentation slide, drawing page or at the current spreadsheet cursor position.


Floating Frame

Inserts a floating frame into the current document. Floating frames are used in HTML documents to display the contents of another file.


Fontwork

Opens the Fontwork dialog from which you can insert styled text not possible through standard font formatting into your document.


Hyperlink

Opens a dialog that enables you to create and edit hyperlinks.


Special Character

Allows a user to insert characters from the range of symbols found in the installed fonts.

Opens a submenu to insert special formatting marks like non-breaking space, soft hyphen, and optional break.


Slide Number

Adds the slide number or the page number.



Fields

Lists common fields that you can insert into your slide.


Header and Footer

Adds or changes text in placeholders at the top and the bottom of slides and master slides.


Form Control

This submenu contains form controls like a textbox, checkbox, option button, and listbox that can be inserted into the document.


              Format Menu


Contains commands for formatting the layout and the contents of your document.


Text

Opens a submenu where you can choose text formatting commands.


Spacing

Opens a submenu where you can choose text spacing commands.



Align Text

Opens a submenu where you can align text and objects.


Lists

Opens a submenu where you can modify the formatting of list paragraphs.


Clear Direct Formatting

Removes direct formatting from the selection.


Styles

Shows commands to edit, update, create, and manage styles.

Character

Changes the font and the font formatting for the selected characters.


Paragraph

Modifies the format of the current paragraph, such as indents and alignment.


Bullets and Numbering

Adds numbering or bullets to the current paragraph or to selected paragraphs, and lets you edit format of the numbering or bullets.


Table

Shows commands to format, edit, and delete a table and its elements.


Image

Shows commands to crop, edit, and manage images.


Object and Shape

Opens a submenu to edit the properties of the selected object or shape.



Shadow

Add a shadow to the selected drawing object, and define the properties of the shadow.

Interaction

Defines how the selected object behaves when you click on it during a slide show.


Name

Assigns a name to the selected object, so that you can quickly find the object in the Navigator.


Description

Assigns a title and a description to the selected object. These are accessible for accessibility tools and as alternative tags when you export the document.


Distribute Selection

Distributes three or more selected objects evenly along the horizontal axis or the vertical axis. You can also evenly distribute the spacing between objects.


Rotate

Rotates the selected object.


Flip

Flips the selected object horizontally, or vertically.


Convert

Options for converting the selected object.



Align Objects

Aligns selected objects with respect to one another.



Arrange

Changes the stacking order of a selected object.



Group

Groups keep together selected objects, so that they can be moved or formatted as a single object.


                           Slide Menu

New Slide

Using this option we can add a new slide after the current slide.

Duplicate Slide

Using this option, we can make another copy of the selected slide.

Insert Slide From File

Using this option, we can insert the file of any other presentation inside the current file.

Layout

Using this option we can change the layout of the slide..

Delete Slide

Using this option, we can delete the selected slide.

Save Background Image

Using this option, if we have used an image in the background of our slide, then we can save it separately as a file. We can use this option only when Set Background Image has been used.

Set Background Image

Using this option, we can apply any image in the background of the slide.

Slide Properties

Using this option we can set slide orientation, slide margin, background and layout option.

Change Slide Master

Using this option we can change the master slide.


New Master

Using this option we can create a new master slide.


Delete Master

Using this option, we can delete the created master slide.


Master Background

Using this option, we can display and hide the background of the master slide.


Master Objects

Using this option, we can display and hide the inserted object above the master slide.


Master Elements

• Slide Number


Using this option, we can display and hide the options like Header/Footer, Date/Time and Slide Number from the Master Slide.


Show Slide

If the slide is hidden then the slide can be seen using this option.


Hide Slide

If you want to hide the slide at the time of presentation, then you can use this option.


Rename Slide

Using this option, you can change the name of the selected slide.


Jump to Last Edited Slide

Using this option, you can go from the current slide to the last edited slide.


Move

• Slide to Start:

• Using this option, the selected slide can be moved to the first position.

• Slide Up:

• Using this option, the selected slide can be moved upwards.

• Slide Down:

• Using this option, you can move the selected slide down.

• Slide to End:

• Using this option, the selected slide can be taken to the last.


Navigate

• To First Slide: Selects the first slide in the presentation

• To Previous Slide: Navigates to the previous slide with respect to the currently selected slide.

• To Next Slide: Navigates to the next slide in relation to the currently selected slide.

• To Last Slide: Selects the last slide in the presentation.


Summary Slide

Creates a new slide that contains an unordered list of the titles of the slides that follow the selected slide. The summary slide is inserted behind the last slide.


Expand Slide

Creates a new slide from each top-level outline point in the selected slide (text one level below the title text in the outline hierarchy). The outline text becomes the title of the new slide. The outline points below the top level on the original slide are moved up one level on the new slide.


Slide Transition

Defines the special effects that play when slides are displayed during a slideshow.


              Slide Show Menu


Slide Show

Using this option, you can show the presentation from the first slide, regardless of the slide on which you are automatically showing the presentation from the first slide.


Start From Current Slide

Using this option, you can show the presentation from the slide on which you are.


Rehearse Timings

Starts the slideshow with the timer in the lower left corner.


Interaction

It defines how the selected object behaves when you click on it during the slideshow.


Custom Animation

Specifies the effect on the selected objects.


Slide Transition

Defines the special effects that play when slides are displayed during a slideshow.


Show/Hide Slide

Hides the selected slide so that it is not displayed during the slide show.


Custom Slide Show

Defines a custom slideshow by using slides in the current presentation. You can then choose the slides to fit the needs of your audience. You can create as many custom slideshows as you want.


Slide Show Setting

Defines settings for your slideshow, including which slide to start with, the way you move the slide, the type of presentation, and pointer options.

                

                                    Tools Menu



Contains spelling tools, a room of object art that you can add to your document, as well as tools for configuring bill of fare, and setting program preferences.

Spelling

Checks spelling manually.


Thasaurus

Thesaurus Opens a dialog box to replace the current word with a synonym, or a related term. To access this command... Choose Tools - Language - Thesaurus. Command Ctrl+F7



Language

Opens a sub menu where you can choose language specific commands.

AutoCorrect Options

Sets the options for automatically replacing text as you type.

Macros

Lets you record or organize and edit macros.


Extension Manager

The Extension Manager adds, removes, disables, enables, and updates LibreOffice extensions.

XML Filter Settings

Opens the XML Filter Settings dialogue, where you can create, edit, delete, and test filters to import and to export XML files.

Customize

Customizes LibreOffice menus, context menus, shortcut keys, toolbars, and macro assignments to events.

Options

This command opens a dialogue for a customized program configuration.
